It was time to say goodbye to Camden's binkis. I was much better with Maddie, getting rid of them before she even went into nursery at church. I've been a little lax with him, still letting him use it at night. But he was starting to sneak it throughout the day, so I figured I needed to nip it in the bud. I asked him if he wanted to throw them away (which is what worked for Maddie)...but he said "no!" So, I decided to buy some balloons and attach the binkis to them and let them fly away. Maybe this is a way to cope with losing a loved one?...hmm. Anyways, he was super excited. Here he is having one last go at them.
He's doing pretty well without them. He cries when he goes to sleep (which he didn't use to do), but he should get over it. I asked him the next day if he was OK with them being gone in the sky and he replied by saying, "happy" in a very excited voice.

Ahhh....so cute! I just realized that you can have him watch this again if he forgets. What a great idea! I wonder if someone will someday find the balloons with the binkis attached and wonder. Funny. I love Camden's face in that second picture. So nice to capture the moment!
Adorable! What a great way for Camden to say goodbye to his binkis.
That's really funny! Poor Camden, well, I guess they have to go at some point.
ok, this is going to be really weird, so I apologize.
I am friends with Kim and April. They were in my ward when we all lived in Rexburg, and they were my neighbors.
Anyway, I looked at your blog A LONG time ago and you had just made a post about the Twilight books, and how you really liked them, but had never considered yourself much of a reader. I felt like you were describing me EXACTLY! I decided to give the books a go, and FELL in love with them.
Now for the weird part.....
I check out your blog sometimes, and I think you seem like you are a really fun girl! And to be best friends with Kim, how could you not be awesome right?
So today I checked out your blog, and I'm having the same issue with my youngest as far as the binkis go. I love your idea on how to get rid of them. I've been meaning to do it for a while.
I was wondering, since you've inspired me through book reading and binki goodbyes if I could put you on my friends list.
You won't offend me if that's just too weird for you, but I love getting great ideas. And who doesn't love making new friends? Let me know! :o)
What a great idea! I never thought I would use a binki, but lo and behold - we are binki users in the Crockett household :). And CONGRATULATIONS on that third baby!!!!!
That is such a cute idea!! He is so cute... that is always so hard to take away something that brings them so much comfort! Good job Cinders!
- You're so funny Melissa!
What a good idea! And oh my goodness congratulations!! We've been out of town so much lately I've been out of the blogging world so sorry I'm a little late! That is so exciting! I'm a little nervous about 3 kids too, but I guess it's a little late to turn back now! I hope you start feeling better soon!
So, how has Camden been dealing with out any binkis? My James is FREAKING out as we speak because I told him we were going to get rid of them tonight. I even showed him the video of Camden and he satred crying hysterically. EEEK!
Is he over it yet?
That is such a great idea, did you come up with that on your own? I love it. I am trying to think of something we can let fly into the air. Maybe some old McDonalds happy meals toys. . . Anyways i will be anxious to hear a progress report. He seems like he could be at a tough age to ditch the binks.
BTW, Thanks for the compliment Melissa! You guys will make great blogging buddies :)
You are so creative Cindy.
